The history we write
From hospitals to film sets to boardrooms, Corey Stanton's career has followed an unconventional path. Today he serves as Head of Brand & Innovation Strategy at Xtalks, where he works across brand, product, partnerships, and strategic initiatives in the life sciences industry. Before joining Xtalks, he earned a Doctor of Medicine and became a filmmaker, writing, producing, and directing award-winning independent features and documentaries. Through each career chapter, the work has remained remarkably consistent.
After earning both a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine, Stanton made the uncommon decision to leave a traditional medical career in favour of filmmaking. Over the next several years, he independently financed, wrote, directed, produced, edited, and distributed two feature films—Robbery and Trader—alongside the short documentary Patient People. His work has been recognized by organizations including the Canadian Medical Association and CBC, screened at film festivals across North America, and is distributed through major streaming and video-on-demand platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Tubi.
Stanton's diverse experiences ultimately led to a broader interest in strategy and innovation. Today, he collaborates with the executive leadership team at Xtalks, one of the largest webinar providers to the life sciences industry, shaping company positioning, developing new products, building strategic partnerships, and translating ambitious ideas into practical execution. His work sits at the intersection of healthcare, technology, artificial intelligence, and communication.
This website brings those interests together. It is home to essays, select projects, and observations on leadership, creativity, AI, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and the process of building where there's no blueprints.
